Not Today

Not Today

Not today.
No trimming the hedges
or running the vacuum
or washing the dishes.

Not today.
No shopping for groceries
or doing the laundry
or making a meal.

Not today.
No solving of problems
or balancing the books
or planning, managing or directing.

Not today
of all days
my birthday
and maybe tomorrow, too!

Passed the First Read

Today I learned that a story I’d submitted to Writers of the Future passed the first read! This means, someone read it and now it will be passed on for further reads and judging for a contest.  The name of the story is The Place with No Name.

Then, today I submitted another story entitled: Point Westerly. It’s about a dragon and a place.

I’m excited!
